Gesthera’s development strategy is centered on women’s health and on therapeutic areas where current treatment options remain limited. The company’s first priority is spontaneous preterm labor, with GST001 positioned as its lead clinical program.
The current strategy focuses on developing GST001 as a monotherapy and on earlier gestational ages, particularly below 32 weeks, where Gesthera identifies a higher unmet medical need and a potentially greater benefit from prolonged treatment.
The development plan includes a further Phase 2a monotherapy study, followed by a Phase 2b/3 program designed to evaluate earlier gestational ages and extended treatment duration.
Beyond preterm labor, the company also identifies potential future areas of interest including prevention of recurrent preterm labor, assisted reproductive technologies, endometriosis, adenomyosis and dysmenorrhea.
